Join us for a one day seminar on the fundamentals of alpaca farming. The staff of White Violet Farm Alpacas will share our common experience of setting up an alpaca farm. Let us help you avoid common mistakes and assist you with decisions on getting into the business. This workshop is specifically geared to those people who are thinking about becoming alpaca farmers or those very new in the business.

$175/pp. Dr. Cheryl DeWitt will guide you through this one day clinic comprised of a morning of lecture on female reproductive/breeding; anatomy and physiology, breeding and pregnancy diagnosis options, gestational development, care of the pregnant dam, normal and abnormal creation, and care of the newborn as well as the high-risk cria.
The afternoon will provide hands-on “wet lab” uterine simulators for registrants to identify the contents of the uterus, discuss proposed delivery plans, identifying and correcting dystocias to deliver the cria safely, emergency training, and a lot of fun.
