Alpaca 101 - 10 Basics to Raising Alpacas
Join Brad DeLaney of KB Alpacas and Vicky Brooks of Heatherbrook Farms from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to discuss the 10 basics to raising alpacas. This hands on seminar will include alpaca care, feeding, handling, injections, toenail trimming, fecals, body scoring, behavior checking, breeding and weighing. Continental breakfast and lunch are provided. This seminar is ideal for the new breeder or someone who wants to learn more about these amazing animals.
Cost: $25 per person, $40 for two or more from the same farm.

Many of you know the “Alpaca Aficionado”, Wade as a senior AOA judge but did you also know that he has been a very successful alpaca farmer and managed a thriving fiber business? That experience helped launch his Wholesale company, The Alpaca Guy.
Wade and Kris will walk you through with hands on experience what fun you can have in creating products! Take home four finished products from this event.
1. Making dryer balls from raw fiber! Finally, an uncomplicated way!
2. Wet felt a purse or scarf!
3. Make your favorite stuffed animal or sachet from pre-felts!
4. Hand painting yarn!
Whether you have a farm store or participate in Fiber/Arts/Crafts shows this information is invaluable for running a successful alpaca business.
In addition, Wade has offered to teach us about today’s ways of Marketing that build a Brand. What are the ways to keep your business vibrant with today's tools!
