Introduction to Neck Tensioned Knitting

Knit more efficiently with the hottest new trend, neck tensioned knitting, also known as Portuguese style made popular by Andrea Wong. With tension controlled by tensioning your yarn around your neck or a special pin, and flipping it with your left thumb around the needle, you’ll be putting less stress on your hands, wrists and shoulders while increasing your knitting speed and improving your tension. Train your hands to cast on, knit, purl, several increases and decreases, and cast off.

Students should bring an ounce of worsted or sport weight yarn (can be left over from a project and can be a variety of yarns/colors as these will be practice swatches) and appropriate size needles for the yarn. They can be straight or circular. A bowl for your yarn ball may be helpful to you.
