Apple Hill Farm

Located just outside Banner Elk and perched on top of Valle Mountain, Apple Hill Farm is fun for the whole family! Magnificent mountain views, classic barns, and landscaped gardens provide the ultimate picturesque setting for the alpacas, angora goats, donkeys, chickens, dogs, horses, and other animals that call Apple Hill Farm home.

Guided walking tours of the farm are offered year-round. On these tours, guests get up close and personal with the animals that work and play at Apple Hill Farm. Every animal has a specific job, and many have a story as well. Throughout the year, Apple Hill Farm offers seasonal events and classes: Barn Quilt Painting, Baby Goat Yoga, Trick-or-Treat tours, agritourism consulting, and more.

After meeting the alpacas and learning about the farm's fiber program, visitors can browse the largest selection of alpaca products in North Carolina's High Country. The farm store features more than 20 varieties of alpaca yarn, along with gloves, scarves, socks, jackets, hats, stuffed animals, and other gifts crafted from luxurious alpaca fiber.
