The AOA National Education and Fiber Conference (NEFC), held in conjunction with the AOA National Fleece Show and auction, brings together alpaca owners and fiber enthusiasts from across the country to learn, network, and skill-build.

Just five minutes from the Cincinnati airport, this three-day weekend will consist of a variety of educational seminars from industry experts, discussion-based breakout sessions, hands-on workshops, and more! This is a great opportunity to connect with members of the industry both in-person and virtually.

This year, in addition to more education, more hands-on lab work and workshops, we’ll award our first annual high point male and female Huacaya and Suri alpacas, as well as our high point small breeder and small, medium and large Huacaya and Suri farms.

We’re excited to open the weekend on Friday morning with keynote speaker Celeste Malvar-Stewart, speaking on sustainable business models to create high end fashion using alpaca.

Saturday morning you’ll enjoy a full breakfast while hearing key milestones and initiatives at AOA during the annual meeting. Someone will be presented with the prestigious James G. King award and we’d love for you to be there in support of our winner!

Sunday kicks off with Dr. Brett Kaysen, speaking on the future of sustainable livestock farming and in true Dr. Kaysen style, he’ll leave you feeling motivated in your business. Sunday also boasts a limited number of spots for the accredited Sorting & Grading class taught by Wini Labrecque and the Total Immersion Fleece Clinic, taught by senior judges Amanda VandenBosch and Wade Gease.

Perhaps the biggest highlight of all is seeing old friends and making new ones! Many successful mentor relationships are known to be made at NEFC!
