Congratulations AOA JudgesThe start of a new show season is always an exciting time of the year! The 2022 season will be a great time showing animals, promoting the alpaca industry, and making new friends. It is a busy time for show planners, exhibitors, and judges! With the start of 2022 many of our international judges will be returning to the United States. AOA Judges stay current and connected with many alpaca related activities. The AOA Judge Training and Certification team is developing and delivering training all throughout the year. Their work in contributing to the excellence of the show system is greatly appreciated. In the fall of 2021, the Total Immersion Fleece Clinic for AOA judges was held in St. Louis, Missouri. This time of diving deep into fleece provides an opportunity for fleece judges to collaborate and calibrate. We are excited to announce that several judges recently completed certification requirements during this fleece event. Helen Testa, Kevin O’Leary, Stephanie Glyptis, Nick Harrington-Smith, Ken Hibbits, Sharon Loner, Sara Jane Maclennan and Arturo Pena fulfilled Fleece Judge recertification requirements in 2021. Jude Anderson, Diana Timmerman, and Cheryl Gehly fulfilled Senior Fleece Judge recertification requirements in 2021. AOA welcomes new fleece apprentices Jacob Hart, Karolyn Knoll, and Bethany Fethkenher.
