We're excited to shine the spotlight on someone whose dedication and tireless efforts have truly made a difference in our community. This year's Shining Star recipient, Randy Strong of K-Ran Alpacas, has exemplified the spirit of service and leadership in remarkable ways.

Randy has been a reliable and steady presence in the show world, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. Whether it's helping exhibitors find stalling and transport, securing handlers for those in need, or tracking down missing animals before their class—he is there, tireless in his commitment.

Beyond the show ring, Randy's devotion to nurturing the next generation stands out. He inspires others to stay engaged with AOA and remain active in the industry as adults, planting the seeds for our community's future.

His commitment extends to every corner of our industry. Randy connects new owners with their first alpacas, helps retirees find loving homes for their herds, conducts thoughtful herd evaluations, serves the Mid-Atlantic Alpaca Association—his home affiliate—with distinction, and even leads church services before Sunday shows, caring for both the spiritual and practical needs of our community.

Randy's selflessness knows no bounds, doing whatever is asked to support fellow breeders. The respect he commands among peers and AOA judges alike speaks volumes about his character and lasting contributions.
