Make Your Fleece Data Count

Every fleece sample you submit helps build a stronger picture of your herd.

Expected Progeny Differences (EPDs) use fleece data to help alpaca owners make more informed breeding decisions, identify long-term genetic improvement, and strengthen how they evaluate and market their alpacas.

Here's what to do before the July 30 deadline:

1. Complete Your Shear Report
   Use the Alpaca Owners Association's (AOA) Shear Report Tool to record your fleece data and prepare your information for submission.
2. Prepare Your Samples
   Take samples from the mid-side, keep them clean, and package them correctly.
3. Ship Your Samples
   Send your samples directly to SGS or through the AOA office.

Taking this step now keeps your program on track and ensures your data contributes to the continued advancement of the national herd.
