We purchased our first alpacas in 2009 starting with the best seed stock we could find at that time. My late husband, Bob, preferred suri alpacas and I liked the huacayas the best, so we have a herd which includes both breeds. Having both does cause its challenges with two separate breeding programs. We have produced champions in both breeds, although in numbers we have more huacayas than suris. We have alpacas in the Top 1% of the nation in both breeds.
Our farm is located in north central Wisconsin between Wausau and Green Bay just a mile off the main highway US 29 that goes across the state east to west. Coming from the north or south, we are just a mile off US 45. Being on the end of the road (Webb Street) in Wittenberg, provides a perfect, quiet, peaceful place to raise these beautiful animals. We have a state of the art barn and many separated pastures with attractive fencing.
My son, Justin, and I do the planning of the breeding program. He is responsible for the day to day operations on the farm. We provide a clean, safe environment which we are proud to share with visitors. We have a small gift shop so that people can see what lovely fleece can make while at the same time watching the contented herd grazing outside the large window. We offer spinning lessons with roving from our own alpacas.
