Dear AOA Members: What a wonderful week we enjoyed in Denver. There were no bomb cyclones, ice storms, or frigid weather. It was beautiful inside and out. I am grateful for all of you who traveled many miles to compete, network, and have some fun at the 2023 Mazuri AOA National Alpaca Show presented by Eagle Eye Farm. Listening to the judges talk about the quality of alpacas in the show rings is a testament to how far we’ve come with our U.S. genetics. Congratulations to all our exhibitors, championship winners, Supremes, and Breeder Cup winners! I hope you enjoyed the Meet & Greet Luau, complete with a beach photo booth, corn hole and, best of all, our Hawaiian youth giving us all a welcome and thank you serenade! Thank you, Christine Hustace for sponsoring these young people so that they could make the trip and experience the alpaca community stateside. Thank you Red Granite Ranch for supplying alpacas for them to show and judge! Thank you Ray and Candy McMahan of Raynay Alpacas, for sponsoring this kickoff event that set a special tone for the week. For those who attended the Annual Fundraiser Banquet & Auction sponsored by The Futurity Show and Sales, you know the Affiliate and group baskets were the highlight. There was such energy in the room and I’m pretty confident that Scott Miller getting up on a table didn’t hurt. I bet he still hasn’t found his voice! We met our auction goal thanks to you, and we are over the moon with gratitude! On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff, there are not enough words to appropriately thank everyone who supported this event. Please look over the list below and know how appreciative we are to you all. I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating, we celebrate every dollar that comes in!
