Frauke grew up in Germany. Having a background in showing horses, hospitality as well as interior design, her interest in the alpaca world seemed a natural fit. Coming across an alpaca fabric while studying at the New York School of Interior Design followed by visits to alpaca farms inspired Frauke to purchase her first alpaca in 2014. Since then she passionately embraces learning about the industry. She is grateful for all the excellent mentoring and support she received throughout the years.
In 2018, she entered the fleece apprentice judge program that consequently sparked her interest to qualify for the halter apprentice judge program in December of 2019.
Frauke resides with her husband, Richard Berman, and their four children in Manhattan. She agists her alpacas at Little Creek Farm, North Salem.
